Take Me Out To The Harbor, Sail Me Out To The Game

WHEN: July 13 & 14, 2013
WHERE: Charleston, South Carolina

Maybe I got that backwards.

It was a warm weekend in July.  Our small group from church had plans.

1) Go to a baseball game
2) Go on a sunset cruise

180° view of Joseph P. Riley Park (Home of the Charleston Riverdogs)

The Charleston Riverdogs are a minor league baseball team, founded in 1980 and partially owned by Bill Murray (part-time resident of Charleston).  This was the first time Stacie and I have ever been to a professional baseball game in our 12-year relationship.  Neither of us care much for baseball, but we enjoyed it and would like to go again.  Free tickets make it more enjoyable too.

Our view for the night.  Fouls balls can be especially dicey when sitting this close.  Never could take our eyes off the game.

The baseball park is surrounded by rivers and marshes (hence the team's name).

MOL Cosmos (1050ft.) and James McAlister tug

Can't remember this ship's name...and that bugs me :)

YM Vancouver (853ft.) heading out to sea

The night's mode of transportation

Stace's first time on the water in Charleston (and my second)...why did we wait 3 years to do this??

The Ravenel Bridge (575ft. high, 2.5 miles long)

Always enjoy photographing it

Our captain let Jon (who is in the Navy) navigate the boat for a while.

(Sorry about the wind.)
Balancing the moon...like I said, it's pretty big bridge!

Stacie was the first to see a loggerhead sea turtle that was swimming along just off the bow of the boat.

Shem Creek, where we made so memories this past summer

Great night for a sunset harbor cruise

The Schooner Pride, also out for a sunset cruise

I could live with (and in) that!

This is how to watch a summer sunset

Come back soon, summer...come back soon!
